Our Mission

Clipboard Health exists to lift as many people up the socioeconomic ladder as possible; we want people to do better, to have more control over their careers, and to be able to build schedules that work for themselves and their families.

Everything we do is in pursuit of this goal. When we decide how to spend our time, it’s by looking to see what will help the most healthcare professionals in ways that more profoundly impact their lives for the better.

Hypergrowth

Clipboard Health is growing fast. When we say fast, we don’t just mean a healthy rate; we’ve experienced 25x growth over an 18-month period. We went from seed stage to a Series C Unicorn valuation in under five years. We mean “growing fast” in a way much closer to how you might describe an explosion.

The reason we were able to do this is clear: our product makes a real difference in people’s lives. It’s needed, it’s beneficial, and It makes the world a little better every day for healthcare professionals, healthcare facilities, and the patients they serve.

Wei Deng, CEO

Wei Deng, is the founder and CEO of Clipboard Health, a series C Sequoia-backed start-up valued at $1.3B. Before founding Clipboard Health, Wei attended Yale College, and graduated from Yale Law School, starting her career as a lawyer working at one of the nation's most prestigious law firms, Davis Polk & Wardwell. She then worked as an Investment Banking Associate at Moelis & Company before she became the second non-engineering hire (Product Manager and Business Operations) at Sendwave, a remittance startup for the African diaspora, and was responsible for opening the UK and European corridor which was later on acquired for $500M.

đź’ˇ
Did you know that Clipboard Health was originally a financial business investing in human capital using something called “income share agreements”? Wei quickly learned that unemployed or underemployed people did not want financial help, they wanted jobs. With some trial and error, the financial business became a healthcare talent marketplace.

Bo Lu is currently the COO of Clipboard Health. Prior to Clipboard Health, Bo co-founded and served as the CEO of FutureAdvisor, an industry leader in digital wealth management.

Bo participated in the prestigious Y Combinator incubator program in spring 2010, and after graduation successfully raised multiple rounds of funding and grew the company to millions of dollars in AUM only months after launch. In 2015, BlackRock acquired FutureAdvisor for $150M, and Bo ran it as a business unit within BlackRock Solutions (BRS) for an additional four years.

After BlackRock, Bo served as a Y Combinator Partner advising various startups before joining Clipboard Health as COO.

Bo earned a degree in Computer Science from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with a minor in Technology and Management, graduating with the Highest Honors.

Did you know that we have our own “internal MBA”? Managing at Scale is how we are building a management culture that can keep pace with our incredible growth without sacrificing our seed-stage speed. This program was created directly by Bo!
